Oh, hey there! It seems that you have stumbled upon my blog. Thanks for joining me! Don't worry about that laughter, that's just my imagination. You may have come across this site by accident, or by random chance via the interwebs, or you may actually know me and decided to come to this site. The latter is much less likely, seeing as I cannot imagine why someone in their right mind would actually want to hear the ramblings of a man such as myself. No matter. Either way, I encourage you to stay and read a little while you are here.
Now I thought it very befitting to title this very first blog post with the title "The Beginning" in hopes that I might explain myself and my future posts. I also thought that I might explain a little bit about myself. The first and most important thing you will need to know is that I am a follower of Christ. *Whoa whoa whoa! Pump the BREAKS!* "This guy's a Christian, meaning he is most likely close-minded, unintelligent and probably outright mean to nonbelievers, who he probably calls 'heathens'!" Well, I'll let you decide whether or not that is true with your (hopefully) continued reading. I will outright say that the last one is not true, however.
Now, before I rudely interrupted myself, I was telling you about myself. Yes, I tell you that I am a Christian first because of a very simple reason and thought process that I have: If you love someone with all your heart, you want to make sure everyone knows that you love that person. That thought process carries into my life, and will most likely carry into my writing. The second and less important thing that you may or may not have already picked up on is that I can be quite random and sporadic. That could explain the introduction...
The purpose of this blog is to put my thoughts on various subjects out there so that not only will others see them and hopefully understand those subjects better, but also so that I can clearly see my own thoughts. I operate and understand better when I can write out my thoughts and prayers, and I figured why not share them with others? Therein lies the biggest obstacle that I had to overcome to actually start writing this blog in the first place: Pride. The largest thing that I have struggled with over my lifetime has been the issue of pride. The issue I struggled with here was my reasoning behind writing a blog. Was it so that I could let people know how smart and spiritual I am, or was it because I genuinely believed that the Lord could speak through me and use my writing? I struggled with this for at least 6 months, hence why I haven't had a blog until now.
Just earlier this month, I finally asked for some advice, and wouldn't you know, great advice was given to me. These are the exact words that were said to me, "...as for the pride thing, yeah it could very easily be a temptation for you to get worth and value from how people respond to a blog. However, remember that Satan plays both sides of the lie. So where there's temptation to glorify yourself; there is also temptation to not do something bold for the Lord because you're hearing the lie that you could be prideful. Walk by faith, not by sight." These words are what really worked on my heart to actually go through with starting this blog. I do hope that they help you as well.
I don't promise that I'll post some great revelation or epiphany every time, nor do I promise to actually post regularly, however, I do promise to continue on this great journey of life to love and glorify God to the highest.
